Notes: Harry worked for

In his part time, Harry also
made and sold Christmas Decorations particularly for
model trains sets, which Pittsburgh
is well known for even to this day, for as long
as the family could remember.
During his marriage he traveled
to New York, Chicago,Cleveland, and St. Louis
Fair to sell his goods.
I (Raynelle Murray Reza) found
in a stack of papers belonging to Leona Remley Murray
from "Holy Trinity Lutheran
Church, N.S., Pittsburgh, PA" mentioning:
FUNERAL SERVICES will be held
Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock in the
Charles Daughtery Funeral Home,
California Avenue at Termon, for HARRY
THOMAS REMLEY (April 18, 1891
- February 28, 1960). He leaves his wife,
three sons, six daughters, one
brother, two sisters, 25 grandchildren and 14
great-grandchildren. The Congregation
will remember Lowell and Meredith,
former members here, and June
Hellstern who is our fellow member.
Mr. and Mrs. Remley were married
47 years ago today. We pray God's comfort
and strength for the bereaved.
A newspaper clipping
of some of the children who were in a recital. (1927)
I also found another
but it has Jane Remley, could this be a misprint and really was June?

Wexford Nursing Home Ross township, Pa.
Buried: United Presbytarian Cemetary, Ross Township, Pitts.,

Baptized: Connellsville, (also have heard Scottdale, Thomasville
and Duquesne)
Father:Pat
ROBINSON
Mother:Cora
Belle GOLDSBOROUGH
Other Spouses:
Notes: I have been told many different
locations for Gertrudes birth and places where
she was baptized. Here are
the following tales:
(1) Born on a farm in Scottdale
(Westmoreland Co.) and baptized catholic. Later the church burned.
(If she was born on a farm in Scottdale,
then most likely it was the "Anderson Farm". So far I
have not been able to find a Catholic
church that fits this description in Scottdale. -RR)
(2) Born on a farm in Duquesne.
(3) Baptized in Thomasville.
(4) Baptized in Connellsville.
As told to me by my Gramdmother
Leona Remley...
When Gertrude was born, her mother,
Cora "Belle" had a black "Nanny"
to help take care of Gertrude.
Gertrude's occupation was a house wife. She did,
however, volunteer 1942-1946 as
first aid during war for Ross Township.
Harry & Gertrude lived in Pittsburgh
most of their life. Some streets that they
lived on were Portland, East Street,
Metkoff (pronounced metcough),
Mazer Ave. for 25 yrs., and
27 yrs on Hermitt ave. (could have been Kermit
I could not understand what my
grandmother said.)
Gertrude's father died before she
was born and her mother, Belle married shortly
after that to Harry Moyer. She
married again to Frank Hager in 1914.
Gertrude died of a heart attack.
She was buried on Nov. 10th or 11th, 1981.
